Shangri-La domineras av tibetansk kultur och gav verkligen inrycket av att vara Kinas Norrland. Stan har ett gulligt gammalt centrum som är genomkommersialiserat på samma sätt som i Lijiang. Om du är på jakt efter ett besmyckat jakkranium eller vadsomhelst jakrelaterat så är Shangri-La destinationen för dig. I de mer moderna delarna tävlade neonlamporna om att lysa starkast. En jak flera jakar? Framme.

Hiking the Northern Japanese Alps. I bought the maps in a larger MontBell store close to Shinjuku station in Tokyo. MontBell appears to be the major hiking brand in Japan and in my experience a store is never far away in Tokyo and Kyoto.

It has been 15 years that I have shared my life with such a wonderful soul, and it looks like it is coming to an end. We went a little out of our city and drove to Seal Beach Shelter, a very small establishment. There were only two rows of kennels filled with dogs, maybe a total of 20 dogs. If I had the room and money I would have adopted all of them.
